In-Person Dog Training & Behavior Consulting in Milwaukee
Behavior consultations are deep-dives in your dog’s behavior and welfare to get a holistic sense of what’s going on and how to address concerns. The consultation provides a detailed, personalized plan to empower you to achieve immediate and longterm goals with plenty of coaching to support you along the way.
How does it work?
All consultations start with a 90-minute virtual or in-home session. We’ll meet to get to know you, your pup, and your goals together. You’ll learn some tricks to put into place right away and strategies for further training. I’ll develop a custom plan to set you and your pup up for success. You won’t be left hanging, either! I’m more than happy to field concerns and celebrate successes as you put that plan into practice!
What’s involved?
A 90-minute virtual or in-home session
A deep-dive into your dog’s behavior and health history to understand why behaviors might be occurring, including aspects of your dog’s health and environment.
Support implementing strategies, environmental management, stress management, and foundations to set you up for future training success, including video review.
Recommendations for additional support and lifetime access to online resources
In-depth assessment report, including resources to share with your vet.
Detailed custom package and training plan with unlimited e-mail support

What sorts of behaviors do you work with?
Does your dog have a lot to say about the world? Are you left feeling embarrassed every time you go for a walk and frustrated that others just.don’t.get.it? Does your dog shut down for no apparent reason? You probably got your dog wanting a true companion and now don’t know how to move forward with all these feelings. Hoo boy, have I been there!
I especially love helping dogs with reactive and sensitive behaviors learn how to cope with the world better. Many times, these dogs are misunderstood and need support developing skills to navigate the world with confidence and joy. I love getting to know each dog on their own terms and doing some creative problem solving to help humans and dogs both succeed in their unique environments. By changing the underlying feelings and teaching new skills and behaviors, I’ll help you get your life back and build the relationship you always wanted with your pup.
Behaviors I work with:
Barking and lunging on leash
Sensitivities to noises, such as barking, attempting to hide, or inappropriate pottying
Jumping, mouthing, barking, or hyper behaviors
Stalling or stopping on walks, “stubbornness”
Difficulty getting along with other human and animal members of the home
Fear or avoidance of people, other dogs, or even the car

Dogs with Big Feelings
Has your super cute, cuddly puppy turned into half shark, half bulldozer? Has your teenager suddenly lost the ability to hear any instructions? As absolutely frustrating as it is, this is all normal teenage behavior, but that doesn’t mean we have to resign ourselves to despair. I’ll help you deal with some of these teenage challenges by heading off problem behaviors, strengthening the relationship between you and your pup, and learning how to meet the needs of your growing dog. We’ll meet the needs for both ends of the leash, transforming frustration into joy.
Teenage Tornadoes
As exuberant and fun-loving as our dogs are, play can be a little frustrating for both human and pup when the “rules of the game” aren’t clear. Does it sometimes feel like you and your dog are playing two different games?
Whether you have a new puppy working on using her teeth appropriately, a ball-crazed teen who needs some help lowering that energy, or a senior who doesn’t quite play like she used to, I can help you and your dog speak the same language and truly engage together to develop that deep joy that only play provides.
